Having a portrait session with Hazel is a magical experience.  She comes armed with hundreds of brilliant ideas to make the shoot special and she is wonderful at capturing the natural, tender moments that you want to treasure forever.  Sadly and stupidly I never hired a photographer for my wedding and ended up with blurry, dark shots from the day.  Since having another wedding was out of the question, Hazel took some photos of my husband and I in our wedding attire in a 'rock the frock' type shoot and made our re-wedding day really really special, choosing a stunning location and even getting the kids involved in some fun and frivolous shots.  I finally have some beautiful pictures to add to the wedding album!  I would always recommend Hazel, 100 times over!

Hazel spent a couple of hours with my extended family and I in the woods on a rainy and overcast day - a gift for Grandma. You wouldn't believe what lovely photos Hazel took despite the less than perfect weather conditions. They are vibrant, relaxed and natural. Hazel put everybody at ease from Grandparents to Grandchildren and managed to get the best out of us all. I envisage regular follow up sessions being booked. Thank you Hazel from the Holden family.

We could not recommend a wedding photographer more than we do Hazel. Her shots are beautiful and come with a creative flair that we don't think we could have found anywhere else. Hazel's enthusiasm and passion for our big day was second to none. From the engagement shoot, to her tireless work throughout the actual day itself, Hazel guided us through the process of making sure our wedding was documented in a way that was totally professional yet completely 'us' at the same time. The results are stunning and will be treasured by us both for the rest of our lives. We can't thank her enough for her amazing work and for making sure we have so many beautiful memories to look back on.

As architects it’s not unusual to have plenty of photographs of our built work but the task of obtaining professional photos of staff often gets overlooked. In the course of setting up our company and building our website we have repeatedly been asked for photos of our workforce so as soon as we met Hazel we knew she was the perfect photographer to fulfil this varied brief. The most helpful thing was that Hazel visited us in our premises beforehand and provided lots of tips and suggestions as to what we should wear and how we should organise the office including what props might be useful. This meant that on the day of the shoot we were up and running very quickly and not a second was wasted. We had both personal and group photos taken both inside and out. A wardrobe change into suits means we have a selection of what Hazel called our ‘Apprentice Photos’ which contrast well with the more casual photos we had taken indoors. Hazel also photographed us on location at a local hotel we had been involved with the design of and the result is an extremely valuable portfolio of photos that we can dip into and utilise on a daily basis. Whether its updating the website, tweeting, embellishing CVs and Business Plans or utilising on our Linkedin profiles there is always a suitable photo available. The photos are both professional and characterful and have a timeless quality which will enable us to use them over the next few years. In conclusion Hazel is very personable and her work represents very good value for money and I would not hesitate to recommend Hazel as a professional photographer the results she achieved for us are exactly what we needed.

Hazel took photos of our 5 year old, before she lost her first tooth- outside round the Lymm dam. The shots are amazing and we struggled to choose, so ended up ordering the whole CD. She is wonderful with children and takes the most natural pictures which really capture the essence of your child.

Hazel has taken family photographs for our family twice now and the resulting images have been simply stunning! She has endless patience with wayward toddlers and opinionated preschoolers and manages to get lovely shots out of the chaos.

Hazel is a uniquely gifted photographer.

She has an award-winning talent and should be better recognized.

Her photos of our wedding at Canterbury cathedral are charming. They capture the mood of the undercroft, and capture people's personalities at their happiest moments. The photographs are artistically framed and timed, and technically excellent. She has a professional attitude to photography, while always smiling, and helping the people around her laugh and enjoy themselves, feel at home and natural. She even brought props for a photo corner at our reception which was hugely entertaining and a lovely record, and we are extremely blessed by her--and so were our friends and family.

Hazel Hughes has an infectious enthusiasm, and uses all the best equipment!

I would recommend her over anyone for photos of people!

Thank you very much for making our wedding even better!

Love,

Sam & Grace xx

We had some family pics taken by Hazel and they are amazing! Hazel and Mark really put us all at our ease and the shoot was thoroughly enjoyable, even with two fractious toddlers. I would definitely recommend Hazel Hughes Photography.
